Saturday October 21, 2023 from 2 to 7 pm
All information about the ELECTRI_CITY Conference: here!
As usual, the talks will take place in the Conference Box of the me and all Hotel.
The ELECTRI_CITY conference will take place for the ninth time this year and from October 20 to 22, 2023, we will be hosting the American photography legend BOB GRUEN.
Bob is considered a personal friend of John Lennon and, in addition to Lennon, also accompanied the origins of Blondie and the Ramones with his camera in New York. He was a guest on the chaotic Sex Pistols tour through the USA and has filmed rock icons such as Led Zeppelin, The Clash and Green Day.
His best-known motif, however, remains John Lennon in a short-sleeved T-shirt in front of the New York skyline. This is where Lennon found refuge after the Beatles split. And right in the neighborhood of Bob Gruen. Rudi Esch will have a chat with Bob about the circumstances and the history of the picture.
As part of the ELECTRI_CITY Conference, an extensive exhibition of his best motifs will also be on show for the first time in Germany, presented in the WELTKUNTZIMMER in Düsseldorf.
Bob Gruen wird persönlich durch die Ausstellung führen.

The second part of the exhibition is dedicated to the legacy of Leee Black Childers. David Bowie's manager was in and out of Andy Warhol's Factory. He became a photographer and mentor to the drag queens, rock stars, stars and starlets of the New York underground scene. Rare photos of Iggy Pop, David Bowie and Lou Reed are part of his repertoire, as are many unseen pictures by Andy Warhol. Der Kurator Stephen Colegrave, verwaltet als Freund der Familie das unerschöpfliche Kulturerbe des 2014 gestorbenen Fotografen und Warhol-Intimus.
Stephen Colegrave will give an exclusive tour of the exhibition and has invited the English musician Smutty Smith to give a first-hand account of Warhol and the Factory on October 14.
