As part of the Bob Gruen + Leee Black Childers photo exhibition in the WELTKUNSTZIMMER we present you in the MUSIKZIMMER: 'A Song for Bob Gruen' with 3 bands.
Starcat are a brand new, high-caliber British rock'n'roll trio coming together especially for the Bob Gruen + Leee Black Childers Düsseldorf exhibition. Led by Neal X - former guitarist of million-selling, futuristic glam-rock potentates Sigue Sigue Sputnik and longtime sideman to electro-burlesque star Marc Almond on guitar and vocals. Starcat also have the hot Phil Bloomberg AKA Phil Polecat of The Polecats on double bass Polecats on double bass and drum maestro Stephen "Vom" Ritchie, formerly of Doctor and The Medics and currently providing the most rocking of rocking beats for Germany's best punk band "Die Toten Hosen". Like the screech of a Cadillac coming out of nowhere. Starcat are the eternal marriage of the primitive and rock 'n' roll - playing a high-octane set of their own top 10 hits, rock 'n' roll classics and a few surprises. Starcat reinvent the shimmer and throb that is the tingle of illicit pleasure, the sinful echo of 1950s guitars, the pounding tribal beat of 1980s juvenile delinquents and rock it all into the 21st century. Not to be missed!
Noise - ruckus - Kramer.
Fast, rough, sweaty, danceable. Kramer tells you: You are not alone. PunkRock at its best. Makes you instantly happy & addicted.
Travis Bickle Experience
Are you talkin' to me? If the radio in stinky filthy New York Yellow Cab is blasting you with a sound that sounds like garage-glam-protopunk with bizarre psychedelic distortions, a sound as wild and aggressive as the juggernaut that was New York City in the 70s and 80s, then you're listening to Travis Bickle Experience. Fuzz guitar, wacky organ sounds, driving drums and grooving basslines provide the ingredients for catchy proto-punk riffs. True to the motto "Fuck art let's rock", singer Kiky talks about the absurdities of life. Her unpredictable performance turns every show into a wild, unforgettable spectacle, while her theremin provides a healthy pinch of psychedelic rock. On the road since the beginning of the year, Travis Bickle Experience will take you on a fast-paced ride across New York's Bowery to the legendary CBGBs. Hop in!
The concert is sponsored by the Cultural Office of the City of Düsseldorf.
