With the international transdisciplinary project PLUS - A Project for an Aging World, TAIFUN Project e.V. has been inviting people from all generations to explore age and ageing in a diverse and unifying way together with German and Japanese artists, scientists and practitioners since the beginning of August.
PLUS creates an experimental forum in which art, science and the public can come together to pose questions about the nature, individual and socio-cultural circumstances as well as the possible futures of age(ing). Scientific contributions, surveys and personal impressions and insights in the context of workshops and various collaborations provide a multi-layered picture.
Based on the results of the first research phase, the artists You Kaseki, Mike Kadokura, Motonori Inagaki, Klaus Boegel and Jan Grashof have developed positions that they will present to the public on October 1, 2 and 3 in the Weltkunstzimmer. Age(ing) - a social phenomenon that can be substantiated with facts and figures - is turned into a generally accessible draft of an empathetic statement using the means of art.
Supported by the Ministry of Culture and Science of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, Kunststiftung NRW, Kulturamt Düsseldorf.
With the support of the State Capital Düsseldorf Theatermuseum, Caritasverband Düsseldorf, Filmkunstkinos Düsseldorf, CECAS Cologne, Literaturbüro NRW, Diakonie Düsseldorf, Takuma, imci, FFT, Hans-Peter-Zimmer-Stiftung, WELTKUNSTZIMMER
