space_relations LAB 1

From 18 to 22 March 2025, Lab 1 took place in the Weltkunstzimmer as part of space_relations and brought together a diverse group of artists, designers and theorists. The group developed a respectful openness, a high degree of initiative and intensive discussions that repeatedly centred around the central theme of ‘space/relationship’ - both physically, artistically and emotionally. Word maps, spontaneous workshops, performative actions and in-depth discussions were created.

The participants were Anastasiya Levchuk, Ayumi Rahn, Daniela Georgieva, Daria Nazarenko, Denise Ritter, Emily Metzger, Kathrin Dröppelmann, Katja Stuke, Mohamad Moe Sabbah, Lisa Beißwanger, Wanda Koller, Wolfgang Schäfer, Mischa Kuball und Janine Blöß. 

Over the course of the three days, various opportunities were created to involve external stakeholders in the lab process and provide space for encounters, including numerous guests at a lunchtime talk, including Ben J. Riepe (FREIRAUM), Alicia Holthausen (Kunsthalle Düsseldorf), Andrea Knobloch (stadtraum.org), Julika Bosch (Philara Collection), Denise Hafermann (D'haus Stadtkollektiv) and Bettina Milz (Pina Bausch Zentrum).
