We are happy to have the artist Andreas Schmitten at WELTKUNSTZIMMER. In his atelier at the foundation's area, the sculptor works on his room-filling installations and sculptures.

Andreas Schmitten has studied at Kunstakademie Düsseldorf and finished his Masterclass as student of Georg Herold in 2012. A DAAD scholarship brought him to Los Angeles, USA, in 2013 where he worked at a school for animation films and learned computer-based technics for film-making at Sony Pictures. Since then, he uses these technical experiences for his artwork.

His works, shiny, room-filling installations and clean sculptures, have been shown at Kunstsammlung NRW and Kunstmuseum Bonn so far. Recently, the gallery Linn Lühn presented Schmittens sculpture "Graf-Adolf-Straße, Düsseldorf", a kind of exhibition of his works en miniature, made of several replikas of his sculptures in different scales arranged as panorama of a city and combined with cinema furniture in which Andreas Schmitten conserves his memories of the former repertory cinemas that have been situated at Graf-Adolf Street in Düsseldorf. In these cinemas, he passed a lot of time as teenager.
