Charity Event
A charity campaign is taking place at the same time as the antiwarcoalition.art exhibition. 60 Düsseldorf artists will donate works, signed books, music or edition pieces for between 30 and 300 euros. The proceeds from the sale will be donated to the Ukrainian Emergency Art Fund.
The title of the video exhibition designed by antiwarcoalition.art refers to graffiti in German cities: “This is not our war!”. We find it intolerable that wars are still possible in times of comprehensive freedom of information, a globalized economy and the worldwide Internet. So we ask ourselves: how can a war NOT concern us?
With this exhibition of artists from Belarus, Germany, Mexico, Austria, Sweden and Ukraine, the platform antiwarcoalition.art aims to make the Russian invasion of Ukraine tangible as “our” war. In their works, the artists show individual ways of confronting the war, be it the supply of food, gas deals, work in the IT sector or concern for nature.
This exhibition makes it clear that the war in Ukraine is not abstract, is not over and is still very topical. The artistic works show that the war touches and affects each of us differently - some physically or psychologically, others economically, but what they all have in common is that the war threatens our common future.
It is also our war!
We would like to thank all participants of the charity part for their willingness to help make the great project “Artists helping artists” possible.
