“Ein Mensch ist keine Fackel” by the Krux collective opens a discourse about the (in)visibility of people in a society and the associated the accompanying process of finding one's own (political) voice. In the processing, the installation focuses on the polarizing and phenomenon of protest suicide by self-immolation, which is difficult to understand.
The complex theme provides the starting point for the compositional discussion. The sound material is limited to the human voice: Rhythmic, whispering or shouting spoken Texts, words and fragments on protest suicides become a sound installation with 16 loudspeakers.
