Corç George Demir, born in Cologne in 1991, is a research-based interdisciplinary artist.
In his visual and theoretical practice, he examines both collective and individual constructions of subjectivity and seeks to subvert dominant narratives through his autoethnographic approach. His work includes international exhibitions and publications in the arts and sciences.
Corç George Demir is currently a PhD candidate in artistic research at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna. In his PhD project “Ancestral Junctures: on the expansion of ancestral mythologies”, he explores the transformative potential of decentralising nation-states and biological family lineages and instead focusses on labour and queer lineages in order to expand the mythological concept of ancestry.
