From 10 to 13 June 2025, Lab 2 took place in the Weltkunstzimmer as part of space_relations and new positions were added to the artists, designers and theorists from Lab 1. Over the course of the four days, the group further developed the ideas and processes of Lab 1 and added exciting new impulses to the approaches. In cooperation with the Kunsthalle DĂĽsseldorf, the participants explored the space of DĂĽsseldorf city centre around Grabbeplatz as part of a feminist city walk by artist Anouchka Strunden.
The participants of Lab 2 were Daria Nazarenko, MoĂŻse Fall, Denise Ritter, Kathrin Dröppelmann, Wanda Koller, Robin Meier Wiratunga, Rada Boukova, Elvire Bonduelle, Maja Funke, David JongSung Myung, Bidisha Das, Dr. Schmitt, Louretta, Juri Lechthoff, Leila Orth, Marie Samrotzki, Ronan Sungeelee, Balz Isler, Marguerite Pilven, Vanessa Joan MĂĽller, Wolfgang Schäfer, Mischa Kuball, Martha Martens and Janine Blöß.Â
Lab 2 came to a close on 13 June with a lively parcours of artistic processes. For a few hours, the audience became part of the open lab, in which the participating artists and theorists experimented with performance, installation, drawing, video, sound and dance on 1,200 square metres. No completed works were presented, but rather sketches, research and gestures. Between white cube and urban space, art was experienced as a socially embedded practice - always following the question: What connects us - today and tomorrow?
