Workshop
In addition to the exhibition at the Hans Peter Zimmer Foundation and the interventions in the city, a workshop will take place from May 28 to June 1. The Urban Art Academy is a free training course for artistic interventions, performances, and temporary art in public spaces. The program teaches the theoretical and practical foundations of urban art, subversive techniques, and guerrilla strategies of the post-graffiti movement. Participants are invited to create their own work in public space.
Organized and directed by Emmanuel Mir and Alain Bieber, the academy will feature artists from the exhibition and actively involve local actors.
Anyone interested can participate.
Registration will open from the beginning of May on the exhibition website:

The exhibition "Petites résistances – Rebellion as an Art Form" presents 13 international positions based on subversive forms of art. In their interventions, the artists and artist groups featured in the exhibition—Brad Downey, Cheesecake Powerhouse, Jérome Fino, Fröhlich, Mlady, Simánek and Turner, Harmen de Hoop, Klara Lidén, Ann Messner, Anne Mommertz, Partizaning, Florian Rivière, Helmut Smits, The Wa, and Yomango—take a close look at political activism.
Petites résistances – Rebellion as an art form
The small acts of resistance of "Petites résistances" are an expression of individual protest and civil disobedience. The artists question aspects of social consensus and offer a local, modest, unobtrusive – yet effective – resistance against external control and alienation. Like grains of sand in the gears of the global political machine, they fight against commercialization and the increasing surveillance and control of public space. They reappropriate the city and the street and divert their rigid functionality into a new, playful context. Through direct interventions in social events and high visibility (the "works" here consist of temporary interventions that take place on the street), the relevance of individual involvement in current social discussions is demonstrated in an exemplary manner. The artists and artist groups do not claim to ignite a world revolution. Unlike the political art of the 1970s and early 1980s, when entire systems were fought against, the use of “Petites résistances” lies in a decentralized, subjective citizens' movement from below, in which the world is rethought and remade - with playful, humorous and at the same time revealing instruments.
